TETRASTYLOS (rerpdffrvKos).Having four columns ; either situatedin a straight line in front of an edi-fice (Vitruv. iii. 3. 7.), or at-the fourcorners of a square in the interior(Id. vi. 3. 1., and wood-cuts. Atrium,2.) ; whence tetrastylon, as a substan-tive, is used to designate an interiorwhich has a row of columns disposed,like a peristyle (peristylium), roundthe four sides of a square.
