The ancient ritual of Pir-e Shaliar is held annually at Uraman Takht Village, Kurdistan province in west of Iran. The region’s people call this ritual “Wedding of Pir-e Shaliar”. The ceremony is indicative of the active participation of people in social and cultural events, and every year it is held more gloriously than in the previous year. The winter ceremony Aroosi Pir Shahriar is accompanied with the playing of instruments like Daf Drum, dancing Dervishes and delivering speeches on Pir Shahriar's personalit Pilgrims getting ready for the winter ceremony of Aroosi Pir Shahriar where man play Daf Drums and Dervishes dance and deliver speeches on Pir Shahriar's personality, Every year in the Kurdish village of Uraman Takht in west Iran, the locals celebrate the ancient festival of Pir-e Shaliar, also called the “Wedding of Pir-e Shaliar”. This winter celebration include music,with men playing the Daf drums, Daravish dancing and speeches and each year, the festival is greater, with the active participation of locals and pilgrims.
