The Morteratschgletscher is a Alps - Glacier in the Bernina range in the canton of Grisons in Switzerland near the Diavolezza ski route. Piz Zupo top left and Piz Bernina top right. The Morteratsch Glacier is located in the canton of Graubünden , in the district of Maloja and in the district of Upper Engadine Together with the Pers glacier whose tongue no longer reaches the Morteratsch since the summer of 2015, it is with a volume of about cubic kilometers of the highest-volume glacier in the eastern Alps . Since the beginning of the systematic observations in 1878, the glacier has lost kilometers in length, it is still about kilometers long and thus the third longest glacier of the Eastern Alps, to Pasterze and Gepatschferner in the Austrian Alps.
