Since taking ofiice he has vindicated his selection by conductingthe business of his court with a consistent regard for the higher idealsof Police Court administration and has instituted various reformsin accordance with these principles. An instance of this spirit wasthe removal of the prisoners dock from the court, thus sparingoffenders the humiliation of public scrutinv while awaiting trial.
