WING ATTACHED 368 Electric Railway Journal Vol. 57, No. 8 New Type Threading Tool THE Cruban Machine & Steel Corporation, NewYork, N. Y., is placing on the market a new typeof multiplex threading tool. This consists of a cutterturret, in which are mounted six cutting tools arrangedso that as the turret is rotated each succeeding knifetakes an additional depth of cut, and one completerotation of the turret is sufficient to cut any threadup to No. 12 pitch without additional adjustment. The. MULTIPLEX THREADING TOOL cutter turret is attached to a cross-slide which is fas-tened to the toolpost of the lathe. Should additionaldepth be necessary, this can be taken care of by adjust-ing this cross-slide. The turret is provided with apin handle and at the end of a cut a pull on this handledisengages the cutting knife from the work and setsthe succeeding knife in proper position for taking theadditional depth of cut necessary. Each knife is heldfirmly by a locking screw at the bottom of the knife. Convenient Electrode Holders OF THE two forms of electrode holders illustrated, the upper is designed for metallic electrodes whilethe lower is for graphite electrodes. In each the cablewhich conducts the current to the electrode is carriedoutside the handle, so that a small-sized cable can beused without causing the handle of the holder to becomeheated to an uncomfortable temperature. The metallicelectrode is held by means of a plunger which passesthrough the tubing and is actuated by
