Happisburgh Lighthouse,North Norfolk. UK working lighthouse. Bathed in sunlight & with a blue sky.

Happisburgh Lighthouse (pronounced 'Haisboro') North Norfolk. Bathed in sunlight & with a blue sky. A new angle on a very much photographed structure. Wearing a new skin of paint too. Happisburgh Lighthouse is the oldest working lighthouse in East Anglia, and is the only independently run lighthouse in Great Britain. Built in 1790, orginally one of a pair - the tower is 85ft tall and the light is 134ft above sea level. The light has been marking safe passage around the southern end of the treacherous Haisborogh Sands.
