The instructions given to carry this law in effect, so faras they interest electric tramways, are as follows: 1. The distance between an overhead conductor and atelegraph or telephone wire must never be less than one meter. 2. At crossings the possibility ofcontact between the conductor andtelephone and telegraph wires mustbe rendered impossible by somemechanical disposition, or if this isnot acceptable the service of postand telegraph will install specialfuses on their lines at the expenseof the installing company. The totality of the overhead con-ductor system must give insulationresistance of 1 megohm per kilo-meter. Underground cables must be atleast 1 meter distant from parallelpost and telegraph cables, and 50cm from the same at crossingpoints. The resistance of insulation be-tween the conductors and the earth expressed in ohms must never be le
