One gardener near Hemp- stead, N. Y., says he has customers come 30 miles just to get this variety because it can be used in all stages. Highly prized because it contains unusual quantities of the valu- able element called Vitamines. Doctors prescribe Summer Squash for children to make them sturdy. A 15-foot row of this in our trial grounds yielded about 50 fruits. Wher- ever there are children in the family, this squash should be grown. Com- pact bush growth with dark green foliage, ob- long shape, 12 inches or more long, 4 or 5 inches in diameter. Skin dark green with still darker green stripe. Is an excellent keeper. Will keep until late spring. Ma- tures in about 100 days. It gets its name from Its fine sweet flavor.
