Fire extinguishers with green labelling are identified as those used for Lithium battery From reading around it appears the AVD vermiculite extinguisher concept belongs to Dupré Minerals Limited based in Newcastle-under-Lyme Staffordshire (UK), with a key UK distributor being Sentura Group who brand the product under the 'Firechief' banner. Dupré have their own product website for AVD - - It is claimed AVD is environmentally-friendly - certainly when compared to toxic lithium fires, and works effectively by finely covering the dire with a misted layer which immediately dries from the fire heat, forming a baked layer which seals the burning material from the air - and so suffocates the fire. On a personal level, if you use lithium batteries in your workplace then consider investigating AVD for controlling lithium battery fires. Incidentally, a recent EV fire in the too 6,000 gallons of water to bring things under control.
