LAWRENCE BRIDGESThe original Victoria Tubular Bridge, designed by Robert Stephenson, and opened by the Prince of Wales in I860, was replaced in 1898-99 by the Victoria JubileeBridge, a pin-connected truss structure, with twenty-rive spans. It cost $20,000,000 and is operated by the Grand Trunk Railway. The Lachine Bridge of theCanadian Pacific Railway is a light and graceful piece of work built on the cantilever principle.
