Cocptr. r). AlltUto^^n. SEMINARY AND TROUT HALL IN 1S4S. In 1848 Allentown Seminary was opened in the Livingston Mansion at Fourth and \Va!nutstreets, by Rev. R. Kessler. The building was gradually enlarged, and in 1S67 tle ir^iti-tution became Muhlenberg College. Trout Hal! is the small building to the let: of the Sem-inary. In his history of the Lehigh Valley, published in i860, >L S. Henry says that this onlyremaining relic of the olden time was used as a kitchen for the Seminary. It stood until :hcmain building was enlarged in 1867. named, died. The latter having leftneither will nor deed, his estate descend-ed to his heir-at-law, a minor and not acitizen of this State.
