Commemorative hazel tree and plaque on Watership Down remembering Richard Adams, author of the book of that name, Hampshire, England, UK

To honour local writer Richard Adams, author of Watership Down, a childrens book about the lives of rabbits on the downs, a hazel tree was planted in 2013 on the real Watership Down. Hazel was chosen because one of the rabbit characters in the book was called Hazel. Watership Down is a hill near Kingsclere in Hampshire, England, UK. It is in the North Hampshire Downs. The long distance walking route called the Wayfarers Walk passes this tree.
