Riga has a large network of bus and trolleybus routes, the last one believed by some experts to be the best organized in the entire former USSR. Motor buses serve the Latvian capital since the last pre-WWI years, the first trolleybus route was opened in 1947. Now most of the fleet is represented by various Skoda and Solaris vehicles
