Jordan, Petra, Niches carved in the wall of the narrow slot canyon called the Siq which leads to the ruins of the Nabataean city of Petra in the Petra Archeological Park is a Jordanian National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The niches contain baetyls or sacred stone blocks. The domed baetyl in the center honors the god Dushara, while the next one to its left depicts another deity, Atargatis standing on two lions. The carving at the far left is thought to represent the Nabataean trinity.
