Early morning light illuminates hamlets around Abenhall Road from the old Point Inn site, Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire.


Back in the day we used to know that rivers are meant to be this shape. Their serpentine curves slow the flood waters enough to allow silts to settle on the flood plain. We used to know that flood plains made great farm land because of these silts and we used know that sometimes they wouldn't be usable. From my "Not all Flooding is Bad" series.
