City of Edinburgh, Scotland. Close up view of the Canongate Tolbooth clock on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. The 16th century building now houses the Tolbooth Tavern and Peoples Story Museum. The original Tolbooth was used to collect tolls and was also utilised as a courtroom, jail and council house. The year 1820 is inscribed on the clock which replaced an earlier 17th century clock.
