Cw 6040 People in pink in the lock As part of the winter 2017 -18 maintaince programme the Canal and River Trust are replacing two sets of gates on two of the locks on the Johnson’s Hillock flight of locks on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal near Chorley in Lancashire. On Sunday the they held an open day to allow members of the public to experience being in a empty lock chamber without the need for a boat. The question here is what can we see in the bottom of the lock then? A number of people dressed in pink outdoor wear peer over the side of the scaffolding platforms.
