SALSIFY Tragopogon porrifolius A hardy, slow growing species; requires all season, and is better if frosted. Roots 8'-9' long, \'-\y2' thick, tapering gradually. SPINACH Spinacia oleracea The time from planting to cutting of marketable plants varies considerably with the season of the year in which the sowings are made.
