Bell Tower of the Church of Our Lady of Guadeloupe, Teguise, Lanzarote, Canary Islands. Teguise was the capital of Lanzarote until 1852 and is steeped in history. For centuries Lanzarote was attacked by pirates and Teguise was sufficiently inland to be more secure, although it was attacked many times. Part of the Square (Plaza de la Constitucion) can be seen in front of the church.
