The power supply may be con-nected either through the modulator, or directlyto the section. This permits operation of thetransmitter on while the modulator unit isunder construction. The modulator was shown originally with a6V6GT in the output stage. This may be usedwith the 50-Mc. transmitter, but more audio canbe developed with a 6L6. If the rig is used formobile work, retention of the 6V6GT would beadvisable, in the interest of lower power the latter is used, the total power drain,with a 300-volt supply, is less than 100 ma.,making it very suitable for operation from avibrator or generator supply. Adjustment In hooking up the power supply a cable shouldbe made up with a 4-pin female plug (Amphenol78-PF4). This will attach to either Jg or /y- Thehot side of the circuit ( or ) shouldbe connected to Pin 1, the cold side and the nega-tive side of the high-voltage circuit to Pin 3. The
