Among their chil-dren was one daughter,Mary, now widow of JohnMoore, and residing at There were threesons, Andrew, William, andReeves, all of whom arestill living in Springfieldtownship. William is the subject ofvious sketches. Reeves McGillard, residing nearly two miles eastof Mt. Pleasant, was born in 1809. He was married. notice in our pre- in 1833 to Miss Sarah Gardiner, of this children were two, Esther and Eliza Ann,both of whom died in 1864—the mother having pre-ceded her chidren to the grave by four years. Abouttwo years thereafter was married toMiss Sarah Brown. Hehas followed the businessof farming during allhis active life. For morethan twenty consecutiveyears he was entrusted byhis fellow-citizens with theresponsible dutifes of jus-tice of the peace, which hedischarged to the generalsatisfaction. He has also,from time to time, servedas township trustee andschool director. Himselfand wife are both mem-bers of the Christianchurch, and have longbeen among its staunchestsupporters. Mr. McGil-liard has passed the Psalm-ists limit of human life by almost two years, but retainsconsiderable vigor of mind and body, and is regardedby his friends as a remarkably well-preserved old gentle-man.
