Not far from the Joint Security Area in Panmunjom, South Korea is an observation platform that looks right into North Korea with big binoculars that you can use for around 50 cents. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy and you were not allowed to make photos from the platform either. This was behind the line of from where you could legally make photos.
