This specimen, of which the left half is figured, from the palatal aspect, in the accom- panying woodcut (fig. 15), differs from the crania of any Fig. Cynodictis longirostris (?).—Left half of the palate; from the Upper Eocene of Bach. \. species figured by Filhol. It agrees so well with the man- dible of C. longirostris in size and general character that it may not improbably belong to that species, although, from the number of species of the genus described on the 1 Ann. Sci. Geol. vol. iii. art. 7, p. 24 (1872)..
