Alien planet. Artwork of the planet Rho Coronae Borealis b in orbit around its parent star (Rho Coronae Borealis, yellow). This Sun-like star lies around 55 light years away in the constellation Corona Borealis. The planet has a similar mass to that of Jupiter, and is also thought to be a gas giant. It orbits very close to the star, just over 32 million kilometres away, and completes an orbit in just under 40 days. The planet was detected in 1997 after observing the effect its gravitational pull has on its star's motion through space.
