Chesty XIV, official mascot of the Marine Corps in-training, his eagle, globe and anchor emblems signifying his passage into the Corps during a ceremony at the Marine Barracks in Washington, DC. The ceremony marked the conclusion of Chesty XIV's recruit training and basic indoctrination into the Corps. In the upcoming months, the young Marine will serve in a mascot-apprentice roll for the remainder of the summer working alongside his predecessor and mentor Sgt. Chesty XIII until the sergeant's retirement in August.
