Thesemills were also destroyed by fire butagain constructed the following were also mills at The Weirs in1803, called Prescotts mills, but theseestablishments went into disuse, whilethe mills at Meredith Bridge and Lake-port did an extensive business, and thecommunity around them rapidly in-creased in numbers and importance.
