A flintlock shotgun,German,circa 1740. Two-stage Damascus barrel,octagonal the round,with smooth bore in 16 mm calibre and silver inlays at the muzzle,on top,and over the chamber. In addition a pseudo-Arabic inscription inlaid in gold over the breech. The bevelled flintlock cut with decorative hunting motifs and gilt. Walnut half stock with engraved brass furniture. Wooden ramrod with horn tip. An old repair on the left of the buttstock.
