The Third Gordon Bennett Balloon race in Berlin, Germany. After a 1908 work by an anonymous photographer. In 1906 James Gordon Bennett Jr. 1841 - 1918, funded the Gordon Bennett Cup in ballooning, an event still held. Sportsman, playboy and businessman, Bennett is also remembered as the man who financed Stanley's trip to Africa to locate David Livingstone.
