October 22, 1862, he again shipped for a term ofthree years, and was sent to the upper Mississippi on board the U. S. S. Cin-cinnati. After she was sunk he was sent on board the U. S. S. Lexington. Henry Dow, boatswains mate, was awarded a medal for the same reasonsas given above. Thomas W.
