SNOWDROPS (Galanthns). The charming Snowdrop is the first of all flowers to herald the approach of spring. It can frequently be seen in bloom when the ground is white with snow, as it takes every advantage, and hastens to display its graceful snow-white bells before the winter has disap- peared. In conjunction with Chionodoxas and ScOlas, a matchless effect can be produced. As the bulbs are small, they should be planted liberally in order to obtain immediate results. Banks, grassy slopes, edging, or rock-work will suit all of these bulbs. They should not be disturbed often if a fine display is desired. Elwes' Giant. An exceedingly large and beautiful single va- riety ; flowers snow-white, with emerald-green tube. 15 cts. per doz.; 75 cts. per 100; § per 1000. Single.
