Tour boat M/S Langø leaving Nyhavn, to the left the harbour bus stop at Nyhavn, further back the Experimentarium City
The tour boat M/S Langø, Spar Shipping, leaves its berth in Nyhavn, to the left at the yellow sign the harbour bus stop at Nyhavn - and opposite on the other side of the main harbour canal, the Experimentarium City on Papirøen. This new prominent area neighbouring the Opera House and the Royal Playhouse got its name from former paper storing warehouses that are now used for new exciting purposes such as the Experimentarium City and the Copenhagen Street Food Market. M/S Langø was built in Norway in 1950 and sailed in ferry in service on the Norwegian west coast until 1965. Hereafter it sailed as a car ferry (1 car) at the Faroe Islands until 1971. Since 1983 it has sailed on chartered tours and as a escursion boat to the former island sea fortification Flakfortet in the summer season. M/S Langø can accommodate 140 passengers.
