An Italian rapier with seven-bar hilt, circa 1630 Double-edged blade of hexagonal cross-section with Pi mark struck on both sides of the ricasso. The base with remnants of brass-inlaid stylised wolf mark on the obverse. Basket hilt with seven bars on either side, S-shaped quillons and hatched guard plates with fine openwork. Iron wire grip and Turk's heads with slightly faceted globular pommel. Length 123 cm.
