Immediately below the ruins, Wikly Lussdn be-gins to narrow, and presently debouches upon a largeopen plain, where it is met by Wddy Jerur and othersmaller wddies, which take their rise in the plateauof Jebel Magnlh. The view is a fine one, althoughthe outlines assumed by the limestone are not veryimposing, and the landscape lacks the beautifulcolouring of the Sinai mountains. From the cliffswhich bound the plain, runs down a valley calledWddy CJadis, a spring of that name rising at itshead, and the plain itself may be identified almostindisputably with tlie Wilderness of Kadesli.
