ARABIAN GULF (May 7, 2017) Capt. James McCall III, commander, Carrier Air Wing 8 checks the status of an F/A-18F Super Hornet attached to the "Blacklions" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 213 aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Bush (CVN 77) (GHWB) before conducting flight operations in preparation of his 1,000th arrested landing. GHWB is deployed in the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
