Burnt cycad trees after a forest fire. Only the blackened barrel-like trunks of the trees remain, along with burnt leaves. The cycads will respond to the forest fire by producing bright green new growth of their palm-like fronds. The tree at left also has several fruit (round) at the top of its trunk. These are Cycas media trees. They are found in sparse forests and on rocky hillsides in tropical, sub-tropical and warm temperate regions of north-eastern Australia and parts of New Guinea.
