July 6tli.—Eeveille at three oclock and at 4 camp and moved via Middletown, Boonsboro andSouth Mountain Gap toward Williamsport, twenty-sixmiles. The Sixth Xew York, with others, met andattacked the enemy about three miles from Williams-port, drove them, and captured and destroyed a trainof forty wagons and took about 100 prisoners.
