HMS C3 at Zeebrugge raid, 1918


Illustration from the history of the Great war published in 1919. The obsolete C3 was filled with explosives in order to destroy a viaduct connecting the mole to the shore during the Zeebrugge Raid. An action for which her commander, Richard Douglas Sandford received the Victoria Cross
