Arco, Idaho - A heat exchanger at the Experimental Breeder Reactor No. 1 (EBR-1), the first nuclear reactor to produce usable energy. The reactor operated from 1951 to 1963; it is now a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public. An alloy of sodium and potassium (NaK) was used in these pipes.
