Crawfords Late stands at the head of all our American peachesfor its size and magnificence of appearance; and among yellow-fleshedvarieties it certainly stands equally high for its excellent ordinary cultivation, it is a remarkably large, showy and beautifulfruit; but when raised in its greatest perfection, it measures tw^elve orthirteen inches in cucumference. Mr. Kenrick states that ninety of thepeaches have filled a basket, holding over three pecks. This superb variety was raised by William Crawford, Esq., of Mid-dletown. New Jersey, the same gentleman who produced the EarlyCrawford, already figured and described in our first volume.
