Thailand: The gilded chedi and viharn of Wat Phra That Chae Haeng, Nan, North Thailand. Wat Phra That Chae Haeng dates from 1355 and was built during the reign of Pray Kan Muang. Nan dates from the mid-14th century and for much of its history was an isolated kingdom. The present day city spreads out along the Nan River's right bank.
