Although yet ayoung man, Mr. Burt has had 25 yearsexperience in railroad work. He beganin the auditors office of the New York,Pennsylvania & Ohio, familiarly knownas the Nyp and O. In 1882 he gaveup railroading and for a short timetook a position in the United StatesQuartermasters Department, but bythe end of the year he became a rail-road man again and was employed bythe West Shore as rate clerk. In 1899 became general passenger agentof the Fitchburg Railroad and this line was absorbed by the M., he became assistant passengeragent of that road. Later he took theposition of general passenger agent forthe C. R. R. of N. J., and now leavesthat line to become the general pas-senger agent of the Boston & Maine. Mr. F. M. Edwards, resident engineerof the Southern, at Chattanooga. been appointed engineer of main-tenance of way at Birmingham. Ala.,vice Mr. P. S. Fitzgerald, resigned. Mr. W. T. Xoonan. former generalsuperintendent of the Buffalo.
