The Puente Zubizuri, designed by Santiago Calatrava, a pedestrian bridge over the Nervión River with a futuristic tied-arch design & a curved walkway.

ZUBIZURI FOOTBRIDGE. Also known as the Calatrava Bridge after the architect who built it, it is an arched structure, white and slender, resembling a sailboat ten metres above the river. Its glass surface has generated much controversy, so today what you walk on is a non-slip mat. It joins Uribitarte to the Campo Volantín and, despite the controversy that has always accompanied it, the bridge is one of the symbols of the city.
