Title: United Confederate Veterans Uniform Coat of Paul A. Fusz (1847-1910). Note: Paul A. Fusz, a native of France and St. Louis mining investor and businessman. Fusz was arrested in St. Louis in 1864 as a spy when he wanted to join the Confederate Army and imprisoned at Gratiot Street Prison. He was pardoned in March 1865 by President Lincoln. Being a successful businessman, he was involved with a number of St. Louis political, civic, and social organizations. He attained a rank of major general of the Northwest Division of the United Confederate Veterans. . circa 1902.
