Daniel Duhan, commanding officer of USS Ashland (LSD 48), shakes hands with a service member from the Royal Thai Navy following a shiphandling exercise in support of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand. CARAT is a series of annual maritime exercises between the Navy, Marine Corps and the armed forces of nine partner nations to include Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Timor-Leste.
