St John the Baptist Cathedral and the ruins of the 6th church basilica which preceded it, Lyon, Rhone, Rhone-Alpes, France. The bishop of Lyon is also the Primate of the Gauls and therefore this Cathedral is also known as the Primatial. Gothic Cathedral built between 12th and 15th Century on the site of an older 6th Century basilica, of which the ruins can be seen in the foreground. Romanesque basilica.
