It is interesting to think that in less thantwenty years after this little incident by the water-side at Wuhu, the younger of those two boys cameto this city as a medical missionary, and that withina few minutes walk of the spot where the Stella wasanchored that day, he carried on a hospital workthat made his name known throughout the empireas one of Chinas most successful and best-lovedsurgeons.
