Parke, Davis & New new general manager of Parke,Davis & Co., is Mr. Ernest G. Swift, here-tofore manager of the entire Canadianbusiness of the bouse. Mr. Swift waselected at a special meeting of the direc-tors to succeed William M. Warren, whoseuntimely death was so universally regret-ted a few weeks ago. He was born in. Rawdon, Quebec, in 1861, and began hispharmaceutical career with Lyman, Clare& Co. After five years in their employ,he took the course of the Montreal Collegeof Pharmacy. Graduating in 1S83 (meanwhile servingin a retail store), Mr. Swift entered theemploy of Parke, Davis & Co. at he gradually rose step by step, tillafter nine years of service, he was mademanager of the Canadisn business. Thathis new position has fallen upon compe-tent and deserving shoulders admits of nodoubt; and that the business of this greathouse will go forward to new conquestsand still larger fields of activity, is prom-ised in the very character of the man whowill now guide its destinies. Mr. Swifthas for several years been a member ofthe Board of Directors, and has thricebeen elected mayor of Walkerville. Another important election was FrankG.
