Mournful Owl Butterfly or Caligo eurilochus
This striking species belongs to a genus of large butterflies characterized by enormous owlike eyespots on the other side of the hidwings. It's widespread distributed throughout South America, from Argentina to Surinam. 5 to 6 inches.
