In 1621, the market, which had hitherto beenheld upon Wednesday, was altered to Tuesdayand Friday; and to the fair which was held onAsh-Wednesday, were added three new ones,(viz.) on Friday before St Simon and St Jude,on Friday after Epiphany, and on the first ofMay, old style.
