Punctate Keratitis is a condition which oc-curs in inflammatory states of the uveal tract(iris, ciliary body and choroid) and consists ofdeposits of fine dots of lymph, mainly from theciliary body, on the posterior surface of the cor-. Punctate It is merely one symptom of a deep seateddisease and has nothing to do with an inflamedcornea. The dots are usually arranged in theform of a triangle with its apex pointing to-ward the center of the pupil. Sometimes thewhole of the posterior corneal surface is so cov-ered. Superficial Punctate Keratitis is a muchless serious affection. It occurs in the form ofsmall grayish dots, or elevations, scattered ir-regularly towards the central portion of ami inthe superficial layers of the cornea. The eye shows signs of irritation, but notof pronounced character, which disappear in afew days. Treatment.—Rest, atropia and hot applica-tions.
